Anchor Babies: Make in India, deliver in US - Remote Nationalism Take 2

The extra pains our Nationalists go through for a US PASSPORT !!

Here is the story of a card holding Bhakt friend of mine (Ms. D) who lives in Arizona. She is a diehard “nationalist” of India and PASSPORT HOLDER of US. I always wonder why she with fierce nationalistic feelings for India and a strong proponent of the Raam Rajya, ever wanted to migrate to the US.

So, now coming to anchor babies for those not familiar with the nuances of US immigration laws and loop holes.

Birth tourism/anchor babies - as defined by a NYT article: “when foreign nationals travel here temporarily to give birth to children, without any immediate intention of taking up residence in the US.” The babies by virtue of being born in the US become US citizens and can bring in their parents and relatives of the US later on.

Going back in time a few years ago when my friend Ms.D was NOT a proud US passport holder.

Ms D. at that time was an IT professional working in India and the wife of an NRI physician who was living in the US. During those days she had not obtained a residence visa to the US, even though her husband had.

However, the very pregnant “nationalist” Ms.D, very much against her doctor’s advice, got a visit visa, delivered the baby in Arizona and flew back to her beloved “Raam Raajya” with a proud US citizen in her arms!!!

“THE PAINS OUR NATIONALISTS GO THROUGH TO ENSURE CITZENSHIP OF ANOTHER COUNTRY!!”

Ms.D.’s baby is one of the many anchor babies of Indian origin. Her case stands out because of the of the hypocrisy involved. Others are honest about their intentions, i.e we want to get to the US by hook or crook because we want a better life.

Today, a newly minted citizen of US herself, she makes donations to organizations that funds “nationalism” in India, regularly goes to “Indian nationalism study camps” in US and is hailed as a true nationalist by our NRI brethren. Her husband is a recruiter for “nationalist” organizations, which I don’t see are any different from jihadi organizations.

Don’t we expect Indian passport holders to cheer for India and not Pakistan in cricket matches? So if you are a US passport holder should you not be a nationalist of US? Fortunately for us Indians living here, the US nationalists are not so crazy and we are known for our double standards anyway.

Well, should the US nationalists like the Trump followers ask her and family to leave US for practicing Indian nationalism while holding a US passport?  Should her family be clamped with “sedition and anti national activities” by US authorities?

Meanwhile Kanhaiya and others who did not go to IIT, and did not have “nationalist” parents who could make an anchor baby of him, fight for the rights of the downtrodden and languish in jail and are branded “anti-nationals” by funds provided by our “true remote nationalists” carrying anchor babies and US passports.
