Key question for Democrats - Why did 20,000 Biden voters NOT vote for Sri Kulkarni? Despite the $ 5 million or so spent by Kulkarni and several millions by Super PACs, the voters gave a decisive win to Troy. In Fort Bend County, which comprises 70% of CD22, Biden got 141K votes, while Kulkarni got only 123K.  

For Republican Troy Nehls and the Republican party, that 20,000 votes is a key number to keep in mind for the future as Troy won the election by 28,000 votes.

Alleged funding from RSS appears to be the death knell for Indian American politicians. Tulsi Gabbard, and now Sri Preston Kulkarni seem to be facing the music over alleged financial support from RSS and its affiliates in the US such as HSS.

For the un-initiated, what is RSS? For starters, RSS is a Hindu nationalist organization that is responsible for the murder of Mahatma Gandhi. RSS was banned in India as result. These days RSS affiliates in various names are responsible for lynching minorities in India on a regular basis.

There are several Indian American politicians in the US, and the most visible among them so far is Kamala Harris; who have openly taken a stance against the extremist ideologies propagated by these organizations.

Though Kulkarni feigned ignorance of RSS, recent reports by journalists such as Pieter Friedrich paint a different picture, by following the money trail.
