The winter session of Parliament has been a major blow to Modi’s development agenda which has been sidelined by actions of the right wing elements in the party. The most recent one is the conversion row. Is this a deliberate flexing of muscles by certain factions within the BJP which do not feel comfortable with Modi’s shift to a centrist position? Probably faction/s that are not happy with the centralization of power in the PMO? Not sure if the internet savvy youth who turned out in massive numbers to vote for Modi were voting for a modern India and India as a super power were expecting this.
